1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion diced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 can 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom or cheddar soup
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 bag 20 to 24 ounces frozen French fries
Salt and black pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Brown ground beef with onion until fully cooked, then drain excess grease.
Stir in garlic and cook briefly.
Add soup, ketchup, and mustard and simmer 2 to 3 minutes.
Spread beef mixture in baking dish and top with cheese.
Arrange frozen fries evenly on top.
Bake uncovered 25 to 30 minutes until fries are golden.
Rest 5 minutes before serving.
Add fries just before baking for best texture.
