A Southern-inspired breakfast pizza featuring fluffy biscuit crust, creamy sausage gravy, and melted cheese. A comfort food twist on two brunch classics.
Biscuit Crust:
1 tube refrigerated biscuits or homemade biscuit dough
1 tbsp butter (for greasing)
Sausage Gravy:
1 lb breakfast sausage
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
Salt & pepper to taste
Toppings:
1½ cups shredded cheddar or cheese blend
Optional: scrambled eggs, crumbled bacon, jalapeños, green onions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch pan.
Press biscuit dough into pan to form crust. Par-bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
While baking, cook sausage in a skillet until browned. Add flour and stir 1–2 minutes.
Slowly add milk and stir until gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
Spread gravy over biscuit crust. Top with cheese and optional toppings.
Bake an additional 10–12 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Rest for 5 minutes. Slice and serve hot.
