A comforting pasta dish featuring bow tie pasta, savory Italian sausage, and a rich tomato cream sauce. Quick, easy, and perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

12 oz bow tie pasta (farfalle)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
1 small onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water. Drain.

  • In a large skillet, heat oil and cook sausage until browned.

  • Add onion and cook 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute more.

  • Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 10 minutes.

  • Stir in cream. Simmer 2–3 more minutes.

  • Toss in pasta and Parmesan. Add pasta water as needed.

  • Garnish with herbs and serve warm.

Notes

Use mild or spicy sausage to suit your taste. Add spinach or bell peppers for more veggies. Store leftovers up to 4 days.
