A one-pan meal that brings all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger into a warm, golden pie—perfect for weeknight dinners.
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp yellow mustard (optional)
1 tbsp ketchup (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Pickles for serving (optional)
1 tbsp oil or butter for cooking
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In an oven-safe skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat.
Add onions and cook until softened, then stir in garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and optional mustard or ketchup.
Spread beef mixture evenly in skillet and remove from heat.
In a bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
Sprinkle cheese over beef, then pour batter on top, spreading evenly.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden and set.
Rest 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with pickles if desired.
