A one-pan meal that brings all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger into a warm, golden pie—perfect for weeknight dinners.

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp yellow mustard (optional)
1 tbsp ketchup (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Pickles for serving (optional)
1 tbsp oil or butter for cooking

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In an oven-safe skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat.

  • Add onions and cook until softened, then stir in garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and optional mustard or ketchup.

  • Spread beef mixture evenly in skillet and remove from heat.

  • In a bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Sprinkle cheese over beef, then pour batter on top, spreading evenly.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden and set.

  • Rest 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with pickles if desired.
