Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ head green cabbage, chopped (about 4 cups)

  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes

  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

  • ½ cup uncooked white rice

  • 1¾ cups beef broth

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown beef and onion until cooked. Add garlic and spices; sauté 1 minute.

  2. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, broth, and Worcestershire.

  3. Add chopped cabbage and stir to coat.

  4. Cover and simmer on medium-low for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice and cabbage are tender.

  5. Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve hot. Garnish with parsley or cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Add extra broth if needed during cooking.

  • Use brown rice for more fiber, but increase cook time.

  • Top with cheese or sour cream for extra richness.
